The Limerick Writers' Centre Presents
The Acoustic Café
Sallymills Bakery, Café & Tea Rooms
The Milk Market, Limerick 8.30pm sharp!
Every forthnight we unveil The Acoustic Café at Sallymills Bakery, Café & Tea Rooms in The Milk Market, Limerick. We want to make this the best place in Limerick to hear local unplugged music and spoken word performance. Small cafe tables, dim lighting and an intimate vibe make the Cafe reminiscent of a NYC Greenwich Village night spot. We present a wide variety of musical styles, from folk to alternative to spoken word. So if you want to take part come along early and sign up for the open-mic. Remember keep music real...keep it acoustic.
Special Guest Thursday 11th July2013.
Special guest Thursday 11th July is Eoin O'Brien a native of Limerick who has played in various groups during his adolescence. He moved to Galway to busk on the street which eventually became something of a part-time job. This inspired him to use it as a tool to travel, he set off for a couple of months hitch hiking, camping and busking in Norway then soon after Germany, Denmark, Greece and Turkey. He was brought up on Irish folk music and bluegrass which has had an ever- present influence over his writing style. Presently, he is working on recording a full album following the release of a 4 track EP which will be available on the night.
All are welcome those who wish to perform or just listen. Free admission.
