Special thanks to Jim Tingey, who was kind enough to share the ins and outs of his work with the Trout in the Classroom Program.

He and his colleagues had amazing success with raising their Rainbow Trout. These three fish stayed behind while over 400 other fish were released into Lake Michigan last Earth Day by very happy 4th graders in Wilmette.

This year, my school, Hubbard Woods, is joining in on the fun and we are starting our very own trout tank. Joan, Fung and I, as well as the rest of the Gary Borger Trout Unlimited Crew are very grateful to Jim for taking his time to share his fish with us.

These big guys will be released into Lake Michigan soon.

We set up our tank in the classroom on Monday and are working to get the 'biological soup' ready for the eggs which are to come in November.

This is really exciting and I can't wait for our students to see this video of how the fish look nearly a year later!

Thank you Jim!
