Two women on two continents across two eras – Announcing Nicole Conn’s new project She Walks in Beauty
After the success of her recent release, A Perfect Ending, Writer/Director Nicole Conn, who also brought you Elena Undone and Claire of the Moon, is launching her new project, the making of She Walks in Beauty, based on her 2001 novel of the same name. Already surrounded by a great team, including APE lead Barbara Niven and seasoned music producer Dean Andre, this will be her most ambitious project yet.
Two stories of love, lust and betrayal
Semi autobiographical, it tells the story of hedonistic success followed by life changing failure in the fast lane of Hollywood with lead character Spencer losing her way in the addiction, obsession based entertainment world where sexual abandon and excess take her to the darkest places. Absolution and redemption come from the penning of a story, an echo of her own life amongst the louche taboo-breaking literary set in 1920’s Paris.
Get involved in our Casting Quest – Finding More of Paris
And just as with A Perfect Ending, casting is key, so Conn is looking for another… Paris. Played by the hot and now hotly sought after Jessica Clark, Paris was the hooker in A Perfect Ending, a role which she won after connecting with Conn on Facebook. Since then, she’s gone on to star as the blood soaked Lilith in HBO’s True Blood – and Nicole wants to repeat the process of giving new actresses a shot at success in her new movie. The quest to find a new lead for She Walks in Beauty begins online with anyone, even with no previous experience, but who believes they have what it takes to light up a screen, being invited to head over to shewalksinbeautymovie.com to sign up and add their details.
Help fund-raise for this new movie by women for women by joining Nicole and her lead actresses at an event in the UK or US
As this will be Nicole’s first movie to be shot both here and in Europe, the fundraising effort will cross the Atlantic with a first major event in the UK being closely followed by events in the US. As well as the chance to meet and greet, there’s an exclusive opportunity to get behind the scenes of the development of her new movie by attending Casting Sessions. See the couch for real! Join us in the UK’s gay capital Brighton for a great movie weekend and watch out for news of events in the US soon.
