Exodus 25:40

“The Pattern…Building by Design”

And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain. – EXODUS 25:40 (NKJV)

They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” – HEBREWS 8:5 (NIV)

Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. – PHILIPPIANS 3:17 (NLT)

Gary Chapman in The Five Love Languages identifies five ways he believes love is spoken to others. His conclusions come from more than twenty years in the counseling ministry:

1. TALK - Words of Affirmation
2. TIME - Quality Time
3. TOKENS - Receiving Gifts
4. TASKS - Acts of Service
5. TOUCH - Physical Touch

The Pattern and Design of the Home

1. PREPARATION – Before you Build
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God – EXODUS 3:1 (NKJV)

2. PURSUIT – God’s Pursuit of You
There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. – EXODUS 3:2 (NIV)

3. PRESENCE – The Atmosphere of your Home
There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. – EXODUS 3:2 (NIV)

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
– Psalms 16:11 (NLT)

4. PERSON – He is Deity in Humanity in your Home
“This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.” – EXODUS 3:3 (NLT)

***One who is Hungry for His Presence will encounter the Person of God (Jesus)

5. PURITY – The Consecration of the Home
4 When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” 5 “Do not come any closer,” the Lord warned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. – EXODUS 3:4-5 (NLT)

6. PURPOSE – The Calling in the Home
Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering.
– EXODUS 3:7 (NLT)

***When His Burden becomes your Burden!

7. POWERFUL – The Defender of your Home
12 God answered, “I will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.” 13 But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?”14 God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.” – EXODUS 3:12-14 (NLT)

8. PERMISSION – The Release from your Home
So Moses went back home to Jethro, his father-in-law. “Please let me return to my relatives in Egypt,” Moses said. “I don’t even know if they are still alive.” “Go in peace,” Jethro replied. – EXODUS 4:18 (NLT)
