Michael Grubb Studio is delighted to be working with acclaimed landscape architects Wilson McWilliam Studio to introduce a new lighting scheme for this years’ Cloudy Bay Discovery Pavilion, at the 2013 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Appointed directly by Cloudy Bay and working with the landscape team we are producing an innovative scheme that enhances the brand and provide a magical backdrop for the evening events.
In the development of this design idea for Chelsea 2013 Wilson McWilliam Studio have worked with the concept ‘Always precious sometimes scarce’. This is expressed in the design in several ways – through the selection of materials and their specific detailing or finishes, through to plants and planting, using characterful specimens and rich associations and in the focus on water and its precious resource. The garden proposal is essentially a space to be enjoyed and lived in, and part of a larger garden containing the essence of the Cloudy Bay lifestyle – reflecting quality, simplicity, elegance and a proximity to nature.
Intensity of experience and a sense of discovery are also inherent within the design, reflecting a recurrent theme in the enjoyment of the wines and vineyards themselves.
