Hi Im Chris Borkowski, you know me as "Condo" Chris and I'm a Broker with Remax Hallmark right here in the City of Toronto.
Today I'm back with another hot tip for renters.
Lets say that you're renting a house and there is snow shovelling to be done or grass to be cut. Who's responsibilty is that?
That responsibility falls on your landlord. A landlord can not make you cut grass or showel snow.
Now lets say that you are paying $1000 a month rent and your landlord offers you $100 to shovel the snow.
Can you take that?
Yes you can.
Does that mean your lease now becomes $900? No it Doesn't. Your lease is still $1000
Make sure if you decide to cut grass or shovel snow that you set it out in a seperate agreement.
That way you aren't breaking your lease if you decide you don't want to do it anymore.
I hope you enjoyed todays tip for renters. If you would like to see more - check out my website. Condochris.ca
