Once upon a time, Nico discovered pictures of a waterfall on the internet. He'd never seen this waterfall before, and no one else he talked to had ever heard of it, so he made it his mission to rediscover it and make it his. After months of research and spending way too mush time combing Google Earth, he set out on his quest. Many a river bed did he hike up and down before finally, on July 20th, probably because David and Sarah were with him, he finally found it.
The Piedra Plana waterfall is in Chiriquí, Panama, on the road between La Mina and Boquete. There's actually a trail that goes to the waterfall from the side of the road beside a bridge, but of course we didn't find that until after we had hiked all the way up the riverbed to get there.
It's pretty fantastic though! You can climb up the wall beside the waterfall and jump in, or there are two big pools to swim in that are deep enough to dive into. A pretty good discovery I'd say!
