This is a video I edited for GameZombie.tv, which covers the gaming industry's latest and most prominent news. Here is an interview with Daniel McGuffey about THQ's game, DeBlob 2. As my first real hands on video editing project I learned many different aspects about video editing techniques, the software used (in this case Final Cut Pro), and the process to make edit a video from start to finish.
While learning this process I also had an opportunity to learn what challenges a video editor can encounter when editing the video. The most significant challenge I faced with this video helped me learn the importance of color correction. Originally the difference in lighting between the raw clips was so made it seem like the interview was taking at the same time in two different areas! As a result, I learned how to use the color correction to adjust the color in order for the clips to match each other. Other than the color correction, I learned various techniques about jump cutting and different aspects about keeping the viewers attention through jump cuts, transitions, sound effects, and graphics.
