The Peace4Kids Plants of Hope project gave birth to a youth movement to improve access to healthy food through a community garden + commercial kitchen in Watts. That idea has morphed into a mobile village concept, designed by Deborah Richmond Architects, that embraces the transiency + mobility of foster youth as an asset instead of a deficit. This stop action animation short, produced by students at Woodbury University and art directed by the Peace4Kids youth, illustrates how a truck trailer can be transformed into a training kitchen + retail environment bringing healthy food and business opportunities to under-served communities.
