The Fireweed had 779 racers and is the largest bicycle race in Alaska. Racing across wilderness Alaska, you can choose among 50, 100, 200, and 400 mile distances over 1 to 2 days. 72 people signed up for the 400 mile race alone as a solo or on a team. The race is a the largest Race Across America qualifier in North America and the weather this year was stunning! All sunshine, temperatures ranged from 63 to 83 degrees and the 16,000 foot mountains along the course were out in all their glory! Plus, it never got dark in the Alaska summer sun.
