Video by Armour Photography for the West Broadway Coalition
The two sides of 1001 West Broadway facing Broadway and Dupont Streets were wrapped in vinyl three stories high. The building, purchased by the city of Minneapolis in 2008, has been vacant and boarded since 2006. The vinyl wrap displays photographs of the business owners, artists and iconic architectural elements of the avenue.
The images for the vinyl wrap were taken by Northside commercial photography firm Armour Photography. Owner Jake Armour had been looking for the right opportunity to partner with the West Broadway Coalition and contribute to FLOW Northside Arts Crawl for some time when the idea for this project was presented to him. His photographs along the avenue, taken over a two-day period in June, will be used for the WBC’s branding campaign as well as turn 1001 into the largest public art installation at the 2013 FLOW Northside Arts Crawl. Visit flownorthside.org. FLOW and NorthMPLS (northmpls.org) are projects of westbroadway.org.
