Alex Mitroff One Minute Portrait

As many of you know I've begun a new job as a photographer aboard the cruise ship Pride of America in Hawaii. Inspired by the energy and passion of some of my co-workers, particularly Alex Mitroff, I began this one minute portrait project.

Alex is a great fan of Chase Jarvis who did a similar 60 second portrait project. Alex and I got into a rollicking conversation about how to take Mr. Jarvis' idea and go a bit further with it. The result is the video you see above. In my conversation with Alex I was reminded of the Proust Questionnaire and I thought perhaps a portrait with a separate interview playing over top of it could be even more revealing of the personalities of some of my subjects. You may judge the results as you see fit.

So here we are, the first of my one minute portraits and to lead it off, the man who inspired the project to begin with. Alex Mitroff, 26, is a brilliant young photographer working aboard the Pride of America. He is originally from Moreno Valley,California...Inland Empire.
