If you are interested in doing a DIY-type video like this one, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. These are great for food blogs and recipe collectors.
Watching great cooks create a meal is much like watching an artist paint a canvas. I wanted to show the art of cooking and set out to create this video after enjoying a similar meal on a warm summer evening. Sometimes we overlook the beauty of everyday life and believe our little world to be rid of magic and art, but beauty is all around us- even in something as simple as making a salad.
I shot with a Cannon 7D, edited in FCP 7 and colored in After Effects.
The music is an acoustic guitar rendition of Death Cab for Cutie's A Lack of Color.
3 cups cooked white bean, rinsed and drained
1 cup cucumber, diced (can peel and seed)
1/2 bulb fennel, super-thinly sliced
4 small fresh tomatoes, diced (including juices)
3 stalks celery, diced
1 bunch italian flat-leaf parsley, rough, chopped
1 bunch chives or green onions, chopped
1/2 bunch dill and/or chervil
a few celery leaves (use the inside white tender leaves)
1/2 lemon squeezed over the top
a few glugs of extra-virgin olive oil
a few gluts good sherry wine vinegar
salt and pepper, to taste
