A Resource-Based Economy, commonly abbreviated as RBE or EBR (for its acronym in Spanish, Economía Basada en Recursos) is proposal and system for creation of abundance that uses the scientific method applied to the social needs and interests. Specifically, it is a global resources management system, which uses the principles of the general systems theory, where goods and services are available in the the form of a common patrimony for all the people in the world, without the need of any money, credit, barter or any other system of exchange or servitude. Also, it proposes to focus on the use of advanced automation and the most recent discoveries, to perform the monotonous, repetitive, boring and dangerous jobs, with intelligent and autonomous distribution, production and recycling systems, so that no human being is at risk or performing meaningless activities.
The main premise of this concept and system proposal, is based on the fact that the Earth has finite resources, but enough to meet the vital needs of all its inhabitants, if those are managed in a logical and efficient way, without using or depending on the monetary or market systems.
Thus, a RBE exceeds the monetary system and politics as we know it, as methods for solving problems and planning societies, since these are assumed as outdated, paralyzing and obsolete; however, it does promote and drive their surpass heading towards an horizontal and decentralized social organization, where all individuals are equally relevant, and therefore all have the potential to equal input and involvement in all aspects of society, without the need for any individual having to compete closely against others to ensure his/her welfare. In this new economic system, a review of the monetary system and every type of existing form of government is made (including, for example, capitalism, fascism, communism, socialism, monarchy, and any other economic ideology that uses money and does not primarily operate through the scientific method), pointing that nowadays they only serve to generate and perpetuate scarcity, execute environmental neglect and waste the abundance of resources that the planet has at the present time, that today could satisfy the needs of all human beings (if being efficiently and intelligently managed).
The reason for the previous statement is based on the fact that all types of government we now know and have been imposed in human history, assume that the planet has infinite resources, that money and the systems generated around it, such as banks and others, are the only possibilities and, above all, so that the economic dynamic exists, cyclical consumption and in upward spiral are the rule and parameter to follow, as well as the command to have armies, police and prisons, so that the prevailing order is maintained and unmovable doctrines and models are obeyed and never refuted.
The monetary system, in turn, for the sake of perpetuating itself, retains the production of technologies that could be beneficial to humanity, for them being too costly in monetary terms, or simply for being mainly oriented for profit purposes, not the well-being and human service, generating many problems such as inefficiency, unsustainability , classism, elitism, violence, crime, war, corruption, artificial scarcity, pollution and poverty among others, that could be avoided if simply everyone has access to the basic fullfillment of his/her needs and the possibility to fulfill themselves as individuals.
In short, a RBE arrives as a solution outside the present framework, being also emergent and poses the use of technology, science, common sense and empathy, with the goal of bringing up an environment for the human race (as well as for the other planet lifeforms) that is sustainable and optimal.
