This is a case using SuperDimension's new Edge 180 catheter to access a 2cm lesion in the superior segment of the right lower lobe. Due to the extreme angle needed to access this airway, the 180 degree catheter was used. There was a sharp "double turn" to get into the right airway and the locatable guide (LG) actually had to be pulled back to allow access to this airway. Once in place the Edge catheter kept its angle even with the LG in place. Biopsies were done through the catheter to confirm the diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was not a surgical candidate and therefore a fiducial marker was placed to facilitate radiation therapy (SBRT).
