The moment I heard that Michael's groom cake was going to be in the shape of a lego brick, I knew this wedding would be full of all sorts of goodness.
Anyone who has watched my videos knows I am a huge fan of small towns, and Paola Kansas is no exception. The root of small towns, however, has nothing to do with the towns themselves; it is all about the people. Michael and Samantha are some of the kindest, most genuine folks I have ever met - if you ask any of their friends, they will most certainly agree.
While their wedding was full of personal touches - everything from the bridesmaids gifts to the endless supply of Dublin Dr. Pepper for kids - the heart of those gifts is the undeniable fact that Michael and Samantha are both givers. They are about friends, family, and conversation. They are about service and learning, and they are about love.
It was an honor to share a weekend with you and yours in Paola. One of these days, we'll have to take an afternoon and build legos while we drink Dr. Pepper - but in the meantime I wish you the best of luck in your new home in Oklahoma. Thank you, and congratulations!
