Watch a wall being unpainted like you've never seen it done before. When easyJet Traveller commissioned street artist, David "Gnasher" Nash, to create a mural to become the cover of its August issue, the mag asked Dashboard Media to capture a time-lapse video of the event in Shoreditch, London. This project was entirely shot on an iPhone 5 over ten hours on 8 July 2013 and required 6,000 stills that were taken once every six seconds.
Dashboard then created an interactive-print version of the magazine cover, which shows the paint being sucked off the wall in reverse if viewed with the Blippar augmented reality app – and this is the clip you see here. To enjoy it in its full glory, download the free Blippar app and point your phone or tablet at the trigger-image at bit.ly/18PzxsN.
To complete the package, the Dashboard team then made a short montage of the artist talking about the project, which can be seen at vimeo.com/71349749.
Tweet a pic of yourself standing in front of this mural (see goo.gl/maps/kKsrQ for location) during Aug 2013 and you could even win two free flights, courtesy of easyJet. Details about this competition are at is.gd/coverstars
Big thank you to Lee at Global Street Art, the Blippar and eJ Traveller teams, Audio Network for the hot soundtrack, Pete Booth, who edited every frame of video, and Justin at Osnap for his sage tips. Respect is due to you all.
