On November 14, 2012, a Total Solar Eclipse was visible from the north-east coast of Australia. To photograph this eclipse I set up my equipment on the beach in Palm Cove (north of Cairns). A SkyWatcher ED80 telescope with a Canon 60Da under computer control, using Eclipse Orchestrator, was used to capture close-up images of the eclipse. A Canon 20Da with an 18mm lens was used to capture a wide field view of the eclipse showing the motion of the sun, the clouds and the activity on the beach and in the water. A Canon 40D camera with a 10mm lens was setup behind the photographers to capture them at work during the eclipse. Set to didgeridoo music by David Hudson (Talkative Digi), this fast-paced, time-lapse movie of the eclipse shows the dynamic interaction of the sun and the moon with the clouds in context with activity on the ground.
