Wim Wenders exhibits a selection of panoramic photographs of exceptional format, over 4 meters long, of New York after the 9/11 attacks and landscapes of Fukushima after the nuclear accident, for the first time in Spain.
In his travels over the last 20 years, parallel to his film making, Wenders has always carried with him a panoramic camera with which to capture moments and landscapes that have impressed him. Now, this documentary work can be seen from October on, at the Sorigué Foundation in Lleida, that will show for the first time in Spain, photographs by Wenders of Ground Zero soon after the 9/11 attacks in New York and Fukushima after the nuclear accident, in which Wenders directs his gaze towards the deepest parts of civilization or to the abyss that is terror.
The Sorigué Foundation invites the spectator to reflect upon the construction and rebirth that comes in the wake of destruction and desolation embodied in Wim Wenders’ photography.
The show can be seen at the Sorigué Foundation in Lleida (Alcalde Pujol 2 Bis. Lleida, Spain) from October 10th, 2013 till March 30th, 2014.
