We are a youth group that is part of the Fair Development campaign in Baltimore. We get together to study the problems we face in our communities and create solutions based on our fundamental human rights. We have been asking ourselves a basic question, “What is our vision for a beautiful city?” As we explore this we keep coming back to the idea that a beautiful city will only be real if all community members are able to participate in creating it. When we learned about Participatory Budgeting, we were excited because this was one way to begin to make our vision for a beautiful city a reality. So, we decided to try Participatory Budgeting (PB) to see what it's like. Take a look.
