Golden Jellyfish (Mastigias papua), perhaps Mastigias papua etpisoni, in world famous Jellyfish Lake, Palau. Millions of these jellies live in an isolated marine lake in the Rock Islands. Over time and in the absence of abundant predators, their stinging cells have lost most of their potency, and as a result, are generally harmless to people. Some scientists believe this may be a subspecies of the tropically widespread Spotted Jellyfish, others feel it may be a distinct species.
