Royal Enfield's Himalayan Odyssey is considered as the Holy Grail of all motorcycle rides in India. Some would say, even the world. So when I got the opportunity to get on the saddle for this trip, I wondered what pictures I would make as a photographer.
After discussing the idea with a few fellow biker-photographers, I was told that I would forget all about photography and the bulky DSLR once on the road. And they couldn't have been more right. I was torn between being a photographer and a rider and no matter how hard I tried, I could not choose one over the other. But that is also exactly where the idea struck.
Manaslu Diaries is my attempt to photograph the most testing and adrenaline pumping moments when on the bike. It is a visual diary of the time spent on the bike rather than a travelogue of the journey.
A work in progress, I look forward to being on these treacherous roads every year, a thousand times over.
