A pair of semi-dissected rhinoceros are on the loose! Short sighted and bad tempered, they've fallen out of a nature documentary and into an event near you. Will they stampede those who get too close or break out into a funky dance routine?
Two life-sized Rhinoceros puppets, a large, warty puppet Bottom, and an enthusiastic Keeper are taking their unique walk-about performance to an event near you. They mesmerise and entertain audiences through physical performance, new approaches to contemporary puppetry and innovative outdoor arts. Inhabiting outdoor and alternative performance spaces, these roving beasts captivate and enthral diverse audiences with an unusual, playful and contemporary spectacle. The Rampaging Rhinoceros are a fun interactive experience for family festivals and events.
Rampaging Rhinocerous is an original concept developed by Puppets With Guts, with inspiration taken from Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinocerous and Julian Barnes’ Noah’s Ark. The Rhino heads were originally designed and constructed by Rachel Salenuis and Rachel Sheppard, and further developed by Ivan Thorley and Caroline Bowman, with the additional of a large Bottom designed and made by Caroline Bowman.
