I recently had the opportunity to shoot some footage for my friend, and co-producer of our last western film, international award-winning wild west artist, Loop Rawlins. We had a great time trying to come up with unique ways to display his talents. We spent half of the day in the studio, where we did some different lighting set-ups, my favorite, of course, was the single source behind Loop. To add to the texture, we ran a fog machine till the studio was nice and smoky. Then we headed out to the Nevada desert near Las Vegas where we got some great shots right at Sunset.
I shot this with the Red Scarlet, and with the use of my photographer friend's (Omar Gomez) Zeiss ZE primes. I would love to shoot some more for Loop on the Red Epic, to get some higher frame rates, and shoot on even better glass to really get that rich detail. And, he said he would do his flaming lasso trick next time as well. I can't wait.
