ShadowSweeper brings a simple, clean, flat look to your desktop by disabling shadows under windows and menus. Those shadows can bring dimension, depth, and richness to your display, but they can be a problem, especially when you wish to place two windows side by side seamlessly, with no overlap.
Just launch ShadowSweeper to disable shadows, and launch it again to bring them back. Other approaches have used system hacks, which can de-stabilize your system. ShadowSweeper does not use system hacks, so it does not impact system stability.
ShadowSweeper complements PixelPeeper, another Irradiated Software app. PixelPeeper watches a pixel for a change, and window shadows can inadvertently trigger a pixel change. Using ShadowSweeper in tandem with PixelPeeper eliminates that possibility.
Also check out Cinch and SizeUp, two more Irradiated Software products, for putting windows side-by-side. Cinch allows you to precisely resize a window by simply dragging to the left, right, or top screen edge. SizeUp allows you to quickly resize and position your windows using keyboard shortcuts or a handy menu bar icon.
