Chef Kirk Brooks of Atria Senior Living was named a recipient of the 2012 Innovators Award by the International Council on Active Aging for his inventive culinary education series. Now an Executive Director at Atria, the former Executive Chef would introduce a different topic of culinary interest to the residents at his community with the goal of educating and engaging seniors in something new. Kirk's workshop series blended culinary services, lifelong learning and social engagement. Past topics focused on the history (and sampling) of chocolate, creating infused olive oils, and decorating and assembling gingerbread houses. Kirk's dedication to our residents is a key component of what makes Atria one of the premier senior living options for vibrant older adults.
