The film is inspired by the migration of birds and people in and out of Boston, South Holland and the wash. Over many hundreds of years various migrations of people and animals have shaped the landscape, settlements and trade of this area and this film is an animated sketchbook exploration of the area and these themes.

Director Neil Baker spent a time in the area travelling around and making sound recordings and sketches whilst also visiting nature reserves and spending as much time getting to know the character of the area and landscape as possible. The development of the project was recorded in the Migration Animation blog which can be found here: electriceggmigrationanimation.tumblr.com/

This film was created on location during a seven day stint as Animator in Residence in Boston, Lincolnshire. The residency was supported by Transported - a new community focused arts programme that aims to increase the engagement and enjoyment of people in Boston Borough and South Holland with the arts and arts activities.
