Mexico is an art space, collective and curatorial space in Leeds. It was set up by a large group of young artists and curators in 2011 with the aim of promoting curatorial projects in Leeds and aims to facilitate work and ideas from around the UK and the world.
Several Mexico members talk to REcreative about how they set up the space - from finding the building to blagging replacement electric sanders. Hear about some of their recent projects and exhibitions, their advice for anyone interested in setting up their own artist-run space and why they chose a central American country as their name.
Film: Gordon Beswick.
