Red-naped Sapsucker at Two Medicine area, Glacier National Park, Montana, USA, July 17, 2013. This isn't a rare bird (though I've seen them only a few times, when visiting the west). Rather, I was interested in what quality of documentation I could get with a handheld camera. The bird was probably 35–40 meters away. I was using a Panasonic DMC-GH2 (micro four-thirds) camera with the 100-300 zoom and tele-extender, braced against a tree trunk, with image stabilization subsequently applied in iMovie. It's not great, though I think it's sufficient for documenting a rarity.
