Artist Sarah Kenchington discusses how she came to make Wind Pipes for Edinburgh, an extraordinary new musical instrument created from almost 200 decommissioned organ pipes and recycled materials.
Commissioned by Edinburgh Art Festival for the 2013 edition, the instrument is installed in Trinity Apse, a 15th Century Kirk in the heart of the city's Old Town. Here the artist shows a prototype of the instrument and discusses the ideas behind the work in conversation with Sorcha Carey, Director of Edinburgh Art Festival.
