"This is Hans-Peter, the data hamster, but you know that already.
Hans-Peter is sad because the German Constitutional Court has strictly forbidden to collect all the data he likes.
But that's not so bad, because over the pond there's an even bigger data storage center at the NSA. And they have a program which collects data in all the world - and in Germany. And if Hans-Peter puts his foot down he'll be allowed to take a peek.
At home he only has to tell that everything's alright. And security isn't mentioned in the constitution, but it's a super-fundamental right and much more important than human dignity and privacy.
Hans-Peter wants to surrender freedom for security. We don't like that!"
