Unconventional and dazzling, Marseille is undergoing a huge transformation. The city of Marseille, the European Capital of Culture for 2013, is changing radically and reclaiming its waterfront but not at the cost of loosing neither it’s cultural diversity nor it’s unique character. This time-lapse video aims at showing just that.
This video is entirely made up of over 25,000 pictures (still images) shot in 5 days. This photographic project is part of a cross-media operation about Marseille set up in June 2013 by Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS).
This time-lapse video was made by Michael Lapaire (narration, film editing and production), Ismaël Fatton (images and post-production) and David Golan (sound). It was published online as the feature video of the web page rts.ch/marseille, a page specially set up to host all the various radio and television productions about Marseille created during this event by the RTS. Some shots of the time-lapse video were broadcasted live during RTS’ cultural TV show «La Puce à l’Oreille».
