Colectivo Coffee Mugs by Jean's Clay Studio - Limited Edition 2013

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Milwaukee's Alterra Coffee and the name change to Colectivo Coffee, the owners commissioned Jean's Clay Studio to create 500 hand crafted coffee mugs. Using Colectivo's 'sugar skull' design, I created the mugs with four different base colors: black, red, blue and white. All the mugs were made exclusively by me on the pottery wheel and decorated with a carving technique called 'sgraffito'. No molds, stamps, stencils or decals are used. These one-of-a-kind mugs are individually crafted, carved and painted with various color patterns resulting in a coffee mug that carries within it a unique spirit.
