There's something magical and empowering about the moment when a little girl turns into a young woman … that moment when she’s ready to unfurl her wings and soar to greater heights … that moment when she’s ready to face the world on her own and find her special place in the sun.

Covering ‪#‎debuts‬ is very refreshing to The Digital Eye team; it serves as a breather from the wonderful wedding events that we cover for most of the time. While wedding ceremonies are solemn and emotional, there’s something about Debuts that are very energizing. It’s the young crowd that gives it a punch of fun; the vivacity of youth that lends an extra spirit.

Such is true during ALICE’s 18th birthday at the N Hotel last August 3. Despite the heavy rains, the energy pulsating from the crowd never waned one bit. As they say in events like this, it ain’t over til it’s over. And the festivities was only silenced for about a few good minutes, when the debutante’s Ate Joyce read a very sweet and emotional letter for Alice from their mom, who’s in the States and couldn’t make it to event to see her little girl blossom. It was such as a poignant message that only a mother could express. Everyone was all teary-eyed – Alice, her sisters, family, and guests. But as soon as it ended, energy went back up – higher than before – and the party was rocking hard.

To Alice, you’re such a sweet girl who now turns into a beautiful woman. The love of your family for you is undeniable, and that should be enough to keep you going. And just like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon … Just go on. And fly. Happy Birthday, Alice! -- The Digital Eye
