Test for achieving a nice stem movement. Currently there is one stem (strand) point cloud. First a certain number of particles get emitted on the "meadow", with a boolean attribute "base". Than for each strand I generate a strand. Afterwards (in the same pointcloud) I emit a particle at the tip position of each strand. These particles get animated in the "simulation stack" by several forces (turbulence, wind, spring, etc.).
The displaced particle positions are used to deform the strands. Actually these particles present the new tip position of the strand. As these particles might be further away from the base than the initial length of the strand, the strands get "shortened" to their original length after the deformation. The bending effect is achieved by using an fcurve in combination with the strand ratio attribute. Strand segments closer to the base get less displaced than the ones at the tip.
On another "flower" point cloud the same amount of particles is emitted, picking up the position and orientation of the last strand segment to position the instance of the seed head (currently the magenta cylinder).
Any ideas why the video looks so horrible? Original file is 720p with about 35.000kbs and clean and crisp.
