Last September we aborted a big backpack due to unforeseen circumstances .. and in lieu of going home and back to work, we headed out on a 4-day road trip looping thru the Canadian Rockies. This was our first time there. And, being it was a spur of the moment trip, we had no maps, just our trusty iPhone to get us there and back. We only car camped and day hiked ... but someday we plan to return for an extended backpack to get deeper and wilder into the interior. Needless to say we were awestruck by the natural beauty we witnessed along the way.
The title (and theme) refers to the great flow of water that feeds the Rockies ... from the mighty glaciers on Mt Robson and the vast Columbia Icefields in Jasper to the countless river valleys and mountain lakes that make up the water trail.
Filmed and edited by Robert Chrestensen. Original music by David Michael of Purnima Productions. It is an early take David played and recorded for us in his living room one evening. His final arrangement became a signature piece in our 2nd feature film, "The Irate Birdwatcher," which he scored in 2009.
