Alaska is powerful. A kind of power you have to see and feel to believe.
This trip marked 5 years after we lost our brother. Ben and I skied with emotion, fear, and constant amazement. Alaska is crazy awesome. Sinking hearts and stomachs have become normal. They pass but remain. It hurts when you don’t have your brother to share this with. But, when I return to the moment, I even laugh a little. I laugh at how awesome this is, and I laugh at how unwavering the mountains are. They don’t care that my brother died, and they don’t care what kind of skier I am. They just are. So we just skied. Powder. With a helicopter carrying us. And we loved it.
Huge thank you to our Family, Friends, Sponsors, and Silverton Mountain Guides. Without you, this trip would not have been possible. Especially, you ben, for making it happen.
