Bali Surfers Remember Allan Byrne
A memorial paddle-out was held at Padang Padang beach on Saturday, Aug. 10th to celebrate the life of master surfboard shaper and tuberider extraordinaire Allan Byrne, who tragically passed away in Bali last week. Local legends were joined by people from all corners of the surfing world, as 200 strong came out to pay their respects and remember AB (link here: http://www.surfinglife.com.au/news/sl-news/10445-ab-s-salute). They brought with them an exhibition-worthy collection of AB's trademark hand-shaped channel-bottom guns. Some were waxed up for the very first time on Saturday, others had been put through their paces over many big-wave seasons, from Sunset Beach to G-Land.
