The Swimming Pool and Spa Association of Victoria (SPASA) approached us with a business problem:
How do we get more people through the gates of our expo when there’s countless substitutes?
SPASA’s biggest role is to host a bi-annual Spa and Outdoor living expo. This is where its members get to showcase their newest designs and latest innovations.
The problem is that the expo essentially fights for share of wallet within the ‘entertainment’ category.
The people they target to go to their expos could just as simply spend their Saturday (and money) on the new Disney flick at the cinema.
With this in mind, we partnered with SPASA to update their existing communications, and through powerful advertising, solve their business problem.
We developed a TVC that effectively cut through the noise and inspired people to go to the expo.
Previous years’ commercials had become dated. So, we decided to take a different approach.
We started with crafting a poignant message: “Turn your dream backyard into a reality”. We then included aspirational content of a range of carefully selected backyards, and then we collaborated with the animation studio ‘Dirty Puppet’ to push the message and animate the content in an engaging and memorable way.
The sum or the parts (the message, the animation and the content) came together to make a truly effective and likeable commercial.
The result: One great TVC and one very happy client.
