By carefully managing and separating their waste the Timberyard Restaurant is able to recycle 90% of their waste. In doing so they are compliant with the new Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 which came into force on 1 January 2014.
Since the new regulations came into being, all businesses in Scotland are now legally required to separate key recyclable materials including; paper and card, plastic, metals and glass for collection. In addition, businesses which produce over 50kg of food waste per week must present their food waste for separate collection.
Businesses producing more than 5kg of food waste per week will also have to comply with the new Waste Regulations from 1 January 2016.
