The course could be fast if the grass is not too wet. The facility has a good drainage system so we should not encouter many puddles ( if any ). The start is on the polo field. We have a wide start, approximately 100 meters wide.
Mile 1- The first mile the runners will run on the polo field for 400 meters before they will have to narrow down. They will still have about 20 meters in width to work with. The first mile has one turn at 790 meters. Then next 810 is run along side the Chattahoochee. The footing is good along the river.
Mile 2- The 2nd mile takes you around the driving range and back on the polo field. It has some rolling hills in it and you will pass back by the starting line.
Mile 3- The last mile you will cut across the hills at the end of the polo field and head back down the same part of the course by the river. Once you enter the driving range you will make a gradual U turn and head to the finish line. This will be about 180-200 meters once you have turned.
What I think is unique about the course is that you can literally watch the entire race in one place. The mile splits and the start finish line are all less than 400 meters apart. There are no reall sharp turns or switch backs. The footing is 99.9 percent grass.
