On 8/18/2013 we ran the East Fork of the Quinault. It's a good hike in with about 100 feet of boat lowering to get down there but worth every bit of it. The gorge is absolutely spectacular, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The water level was very low, a little more would make it a much more fun run. This is one of those places that you can only see if you kayak as there isn't any access to the gorge, once you're in there, there is only one way out. I also got rescued for the first time, thanks again to the crew for bailing me out!
