Economic stability, a talented creativne class, and a pinch of global experience are a potent formula for startup companies in Canada, according to Matt Di Paola, Senior VP, General Manager of advertising firm Critical Mass. Our Canadian characteristics – combined with a few global economic factors – have led Canucks back home for their next job, and the result is a better local talent pool from which to draw.
Di Paola also says that Canadian entrepreneurs need not be ashamed of past failures. Instead, they should be worn as triumphant battle scars, signs of lessons learned out in the real world. This experience is what makes the next startup more enduring and successful.
