This is an introduction video for the James Dyson Foundation, a school program created by James Dyson to promote hands-on learning about engineering by elementary school, high school, and college students.
For this project, I produced 3 videos for the James Dydon Foundation, used to promote the various school-and-university-related programs they offer - "Who We Are" video, "Engineering Box," and "Design. Build. Test." For these videos, I was in charge of most aspects of the production, from start to finish. I was the Art Director, On-Set Director, Producer, DP, Style Boards, Animator, Editor, Colorist, and Audio Artist for all 3 videos. Assistance provided by my Production Assistant, Crystal Stewart, and the JDF rep, Erin Webb. For two of the videos, all of the footage was shot entirely by myself. For the third video, I edited together a combination of footage I had shot and some additional footage from older JDF shoots provided by the client. The animation and graphic design was done by me using a combination of custom-made graphic elements I personally designed, and JDF-provided brand-specific graphics. Filming mainly involved run-and-gun field shoots, where we would go into grade school classrooms, film the teachers and students using the JDF engineering workshop tools, and interview both the students and teachers about their experience with the program.
