35mm film /HDCam, 9 min., D, 2009
permiere: 59. Int. Filmfestspiele Berlin (Berlinale 2009), Forum Expanded
The film consists of 8 sequences composed of 12 still photos each. Each photo stands for 5 seconds. The photos show models of landscapes made of synthetic materials such as wrapping paper, sparklers and kitty litter. The soundtrack consists of natural sounds (water, fire, wind etc.) cut up, looped and pitched into a musical form shifting between atmospheric environments and structural composition.
“LINT LENT LAND” – The title can be read as a sentence or as a reflection of the film’s time structure: Minimal changes from one photo to the next suggest motion, transformation and change in meaning.
