A mix of Blender, After Effects and Particle Illusion.
The Blender part uses a BVH driven character, a boid particle system for the flocking fish and animated lattice work for the jellyfish. I rendered it using Kai's Blender so I could take advantage of the object based ambient occlusion feature controlled by the material emit. The emitting objects in this scene are the font objects.
