With Denemo you can transcribe music notation from audio.
The audio is represented as a set of "note-onsets" - little gray triangles - above the top staff.
The staff is initially filled with beats, played as percussion.
The first step is to drag the audio to synchronize the actual start of the music with a barline. Then the tempo is dragged so that the subsequent barlines match the beat of the music.
The left mouse button drags the audio start time (or lead-in) while the right mouse button drags the tempo.
To find the exact place where a new bar begins the playback can be slowed down and the note onset marking the start of the bar can be marked with a double click, Then that note onset is dragged to place it at the start of the first beat of the bar.
Once the music notation and audio are in sync, the rhythm can be notated and played (at slow speed if need be) and finally the pitches played onto the rhythm. Both the notated music and the original audio can then be played in sync to listen for transcription errors. I hope to create a video of these steps too, but at the moment I am having difficulty recording the audio (as you can hear :)
