During the international animation festival in ANNECY 2012, I had a public interview with the festival director Serge Bromberg. It lasted a bit less than 10 minutes, a shorter version of around 5 minutes was published at the Annecy Festival's youtube-channel.
I do understand, that the festival had to shorten the interview, I am just amused to find out and to show you, which parts were cut off:
The initial gag question of Serge, calling me an "egomaniac" produced a slightly chaotic answer on his side, when I gave back the question to him. Also the second cut in the official video is kind of amusing, because it clearly demonstrates, that totally new meaning is produced by placing Serge's statement "So this is your final statement for today" to a spot, where it never was.
I had recorded the audio of the whole interview, which enabled me to publish now the "extended version" of the Annecy interview. On the one hand I wanted to demonstrate, how media can manipulate reality, but on the other hand I really like the statements I am making during this interview.
So, if you want to get a more personal view of myself to SUNNY AFTERNOON and some of my motivations to do the film, this is certainly a good addition to the official press statements. (thomasrenoldner.at)
(By the way: some of the louder laughter is produced mainly by Nancy Phelps, thank you !)
