Benedict Holloway is really weird on many levels. One of them being that his hallucinations are cured with alcoholic drinks. Yeah, sounds a bit counter-intuitive, doesn't it? Some people in my book, The Perks of Being a Scientist, believe he has magic and he just doesn't know it, but Benedict isn't too sure. You would expect wine and scotch to make his hallucinations worse, but they make them go away. Maybe it's the taste and the warmth it brings him calls him down? No one really knows. I know it's impossible, but in a book, anything can happen. Enjoy!
By the way, the painting in the end is what causes some of his meltdowns. I just wanted to put that out there.
