This screencast covers the rather advanced topic of Divisia monetary services indexes (MSI). Technical details are ignored and the focus is on the monetarist experiment of 1979 - 1982. Comparing MSIM2 to conventional M2 shows that the money supply was much tighter than the Fed thought. This is no mere academic exercise because one could argue the resulting deep recession could have been avoided. Also, it sues the Zoomer tool in the Econ Chart add-in to zoom in on a portion of a chart.
